ABOUT US
Jigyasa Giri & Pratibha Jain are partners of PRITYA which is a space for documentation of traditional wisdom. In December 2005, they co-authored and published “Cooking at Home with Pedatha” which was awarded the “Best Vegetarian Cookbook in the World 2006” by the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards. In December 2008, they authored and published “Sukham Ayu” which is a cookbook based on Ayurvedic insights.
JIGYASA GIRI is a Kathak Dancer, Teacher & Choreographer. She teaches in Chennai at her dance school named “Devaniya”. A lover of the Kathak dance form, she has been recognized by the Guild of Women Achievers for bringing about a cross cultural synergy in the field of dance. Writing, editing and translating are newly discovered skills and she is constantly amazed by her passion for language.
PRATIBHA JAIN is an author and translator. She holds a Doctorate in Philosophy of Language from the University of Madras. She has been a Recipient of the Junior Research Fellowship awarded by the Indian Council of Philosophical Research, New-Delhi. She has taught as a guest lecturer at the Dept. of Philosophy, University of Madras from 2001-2004. Apart from her interest in Philosophy, she has written many short stories and scripted a play in Hindi. MY SCHOOL SATYA SURABHI:
Jigyasa and Pratibha are Trustees & Resource facilitators of My School Satya Surabhi. Located in Attuvampatti valley of the Palani hills, Kodaikanal, this is a school that provides quality and value-based education and nutritious noon meals to its students who are primarily the children of the farm labourers and petty vendors of Attuvampatti. Pratibha and Jigyasa visit the school regularly to conduct workshops in Spoken English, Computer education and Dance movements.
